    Care & Share Thrift Shoppes announced their 2019 donation to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at a special Super Star Breakfast.  Thanks to generous donors, energetic shoppers and enthusiastic volunteers, Care & Share announced they are the first independent, non-profit, thrift store to donate over One Million Dollars to charity in a calendar year

    Volunteers contribute to the heartbeat of Care & Share!  At this breakfast, we celebrated an elite group we refer to as the “Super Stars”. These 93 special volunteers each donated between 300 - 1,700 hours in 2019, contributing to over 109,000 volunteer hours in 2019.  Care & Share is thankful for the support of all of our volunteers. 

    Since 1975, Care & Share has donated over $19 million to MCC (

    We also acknowledged former Care & Share Board Member, Dave Friesen with our Founder’s Award for outstanding Board service and commitment.  Dave served as a Board Member for nine years, six years as the Board Chairperson.  A $25,000 donation was made in his honor to MCC.

  • The Care & Share Thrift Shoppes announce the appointment of three new Board Members for a three-year term.  LuCinda Moyer, Gail Ryan and Joanne Brenneman Speigle joins a six member Board that oversees the operations of the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes.   Sarah Bergin, Care & Share Thrift Shoppes’ Executive Director stated, “Our organization continues to be blessed by Board Members who are dedicated to serving our local community and raising funds for our charity, Mennonite Central Committee.  I am excited to see how they will use their talents and life experiences to continue enriching our organization.”  


    LuCinda Moyer grew up in Harleysville and graduated from Christopher Dock High School. After graduating from Penn State University, LuCinda went on to receive a Masters in Health Science from George Washington University and became a Certified Physician's Assistant. For 13+ years she worked as an Orthopedic PA in Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, and Trauma.
    In 2016 she joined Attentive Health where she now works as Executive Director.
    LuCinda lives in Souderton with her husband and two daughters. In her free time she enjoys walking, traveling, watching soccer, and trying new recipes.


    Gail Ryan has lived in the Indian Valley for 33 years, spending most of her educational career with the Souderton Area School District where she served as a teacher, a professional development coach, curriculum director and elementary principal.   Since her retirement in 2016 she has worked as a literacy consultant and interim principal in several local school districts.  An active member of Zion Mennonite Church, Gail participates in the vocal and bell choirs and volunteers with the Bean Bag Food Program which provides weekend meals to students experiencing food scarcity. In her retirement Gail enjoys reading, traveling, walking, dinner with friends, and gardening.  She and her husband Kevin have three adult children and find Souderton to be a lovely place to call home. 


    Joanne Brenneman Speigle grew up in Doylestown. She attended Christopher Dock Mennonite high school, graduated from Eastern Mennonite College and moved to Richmond, Virginia to attend medical school at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University.
    She worked in private practice in Richmond, Virginia for five years before returning to southeastern PA in 2000, becoming a partner at Doylestown Radiology Associates, at Doylestown Hospital.

    Joanne lives in Telford with her husband. (Her two adult daughters live in Boston and Denver) In her free time she enjoys reading, swimming, skiing, and traveling.

    Furniture can be dropped off at door #13 (blue flags) behind the Furniture Shoppe.

    We are unable to pick up donations at this time.
